Student Yoga Weekend

Each event at the Quest Center is very special. For the Student Yoga Weekend there is no exception. Each edition is different and unique. This early spring the Student Yoga Weekend was very intimate and bonding. We enjoyed being together establishing connections. Connections was actually the underline theme of the event and the workshops led by Richa and Dada Viveka brought to life the need we all have for deep loving connections. It was brought throught the spiritual sharing during the meditations and the Kiirtans. It was brought at the dining table as well as during the meal preparation. We had a all together cooking class that created the opportunity to learn few tricks of vegetarian cousine and at the same time being together hands on something without any complexity. Most of images refers to the walk we did in the woods after the lunch on Saturday. It has been always in our program for every Student Yoga Weekend but this time got an ecological twist. Somebody started pick up trash and without any previous consultation we found ourselves with plastic bags cleaning up the road sides. This spontaneity went through all the weekend until we parted without to much commotion, like old friends sure to meet again sometime, somewhere, on the eternal spiritual path.

Community garden day and the really old rotten hay

There has been a Quest Center community garden day on Saturday, April 11th. 9:30 to about noon.

This is the third year of the garden, and the permanent beds got some help - mainly bringing much mulch to surround/define/fertilize each of the beds. We put a thin layer of really well-rotted hay actually on the bed, and we did weeding or fluffing up of the soil that was needed.

Armed with forks we dig up the really old rotted hay, and with the help of a pickup we moved the hay from across the road to the beds.

The beds are now pretty in a nice shape ready for planting when the weather will be warm and sure enough. Thanks to the "crew that do" see you next time.
