Community Building Kitchen

In cooperation with the Penn State Cooperative Extension in Susquehanna County the Quest Center opens its commercial certified kitchen for use by community members. Now it will be possible to produce at this facility food preserves, baked goods as well as other food products on the basis of the requirements specified by the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture. Those who are interested in producing cheese and milk derivatives will also have access to the kitchen after considering the specific requirements related to such production.
As a community service the Quest Center intends to discuss modalities and rates for the use of its kitchen case by case. Limitations apply for those weekends when the Quest Center hosts retreats. Specific restrictions are also to be considered regarding the ingredients allowed to be used in the kitchen.
The Quest Center is also considering how to develop the Community Building Kitchen through classes and events geared towards creating the basis for more profitable food businesses and a healthier community. Suggestions and participation are welcome.
